TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER

Role & Responsibilities:

Job Title: Technical Sales Manager
Reporting To:
General Manager

General Role Definition: The Technical Sales Manager (TSM) will lead efforts to have a portfolio of specialty products and materials specified on projects and facilities island­ wide.

  • Build and maintain close customer relationships, seeking to understand successful value propositions. Engage with our customers and potential customers on a regular basis, formally and informally.

  • Prioritize opportunities to get the brands we represent specified on project opportunities in our market.

  • Seek opportunities to sell and represent new products that our customers want.

  • Strive to attain expert-level knowledge about the products and brands we represent including a commitment to continuing professional development.

  • Prepare take offs, quotations, vendor orders, submittals, shipping documents and quality control procedures to effectively deliver on complex product orders from concept through to completion and warranty.

  • Manage order volume including project tracking, invoice generation, and receivable follow up, from start to completion.

  • Assist and provide guidance to installers and end users in the successful delivery and use of the products we sell.

  • Utilize modern sales and construction technology tools including CRM and take off software in the service delivery process.

  • Excellent presentation, communication and negotiation skills, with a positive and outgoing personality.

Qualification/ Education/ Experience

To be assessed on an individual basis by process of interview. It is envisaged that no one with less than five years of similar experience in a sales function would be suitable. Formal degree level education in sales or marketing, combined with construction industry experience, (or vice versa) would be considered a significant asset.

Skills Required

Solid computer literacy skills are essential. Experience with CRM software, point of sale, Quickbooks and Microsoft Office is required.
